Medicare Insurance Houston TX

The US government provides Medicare insurance for certain people who are eligible. You become eligible when you turn 65 years old or are a person with specified disabilities, especially End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), which is permanent kidney failure.

Different parts of Medicare coverage offer specific services.

Original Medicare Insurance in Houston, TX

There are two parts to Original Medicare:

  • Medicare Part A, which you may know as Hospital Insurance
  • Medicare Part B, which you may know as Medical Insurance

As you receive different medical services, you pay different amounts. For example, starting in January every year, you pay your deductible, usually by paying 20% of the price of the medical service your provider performs. Therefore, if you go to the doctor and get a Medicare-approved treatment for $100, your coinsurance amount is a payment of $20.

Original Medicare doesn’t pay for all your medical costs, but it does help

Medicare – Part (A)

Medicare – Part (A) pays for your stays in the hospital, any care you need at a skilled nursing facility, and hospice care. Sometimes it covers some in-home health care.

Most people don’t need to pay a premium for this part of Medicare coverage. Suppose you or your spouse ever paid Medicare taxes when you were working. In that case, you probably don’t need to pay any premiums for Part A once you are eligible.

If you have never worked or never paid Medicare taxes, you can purchase Part A coverage by paying premiums.

When you worked, taxes paid into Medicare for fewer than 30 quarters would mean a premium of $506 in 2023, which usually goes up every year.

When you worked, if you paid Medicare taxes between 30 and 39 quarters would mean you would pay lower premiums at $278 for that same Part A coverage in 2023.

Medicare Part B

Medicare Part B covers services from a doctor, any care you receive as an outpatient in a hospital, several medical supplies, and many preventive services.

Medicare Part D – Prescription Drugs

Plus, Medicare Part D coverage helps pay for the costs of prescription drugs and also includes payments for some vaccines.
